Bruce Springsteen rolls out extra shows in Chicago, Philadelphia

The first day of North American ticket sales for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band has netted fans additional shows in Chicago and Philadelphia after quick sell-outs.

Springsteen's first tour with the E Street Band in nearly five years has already burned through several instant sell-outs in the UK and Europe, where a few dates went on sale before the first batch of U.S. onsales.

In Belfast, Springsteen broke a ticket sales record set by Oasis, selling out the 10,000-seats Odyssey in just eight minutes.

Ticket volume numbers weren't immediately available for this morning's sales, but additional shows in Chicago (10/22) and Philadelphia (10/6) were added within a half hour of the beginning of sales in both cities.

With the first day of sales out of the way, all eyes turn to Monday's action in New York and New Jersey, as tickets roll out at arguably Springsteen's home base venues, Madison Square Garden and the Continental Airlines Arena.
