The Cult will headline the next edition of the Jagermeister Music Tour, which kicks off just a couple of weeks after the band drops its first new studio album since 2001.
The initial set of dates for the touring rock festival--which sports a lineup that also includes VietNam, The Cliks and Action Action--shows the outing launching Oct. 17 in San Diego. The first 15 cities for the trek are set, with the itinerary expected to expand into December. All currently scheduled dates are shown below.
Last spring's edition of the Jagermeister event featured Stone Sour and Lacuna Coil, among others.
The Cult continues a return to active status that began last fall, when singer Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy took the band out of hiatus and the British group launched its first tour since its run behind 2001's "Beyond Good and Evil."
"Born Into This," due in stores Oct. 2, was recorded earlier this year with producer Youth (The Verve, Primal Scream) and features the single "Dirty Little Rockstar," which is currently available as a digital download through iTunes.
With Astbury and Duffy the band's only two remaining original members, The Cult is rounded out by the addition of two new members, bassist Chris Wyse (Cardboard Vampyres, Jerry Cantrell) and drummer John Tempesta (White Zombie, Helmet), both of whom appear on "Born Into This."
