Isaac Hanson , the elder member of the brother act that bears his surname, was checked into a Dallas hospital Tuesday (10/2) after complaining of chest pain the previous night.
According to the band's publicist, Hanson was tested and diagnosed with pulmonary embolism, a condition that occurs when blood clots break away from the extremities and travel to the lungs. Hanson, 26, remains at Baylor University Medical Center and is currently listed in stable condition.
Hanson's brother Taylor told Dallas-Fort Worth TV station FDFW that his brother was doing well.
"We appreciate thoughts and prayers that have been out there for him," he told the station from the band's hometown of Tulsa, OK. "We want the tour to go on, so you know we are working steadfastly to see how long he's going to need to rest."
The group's scheduled show last night (10/3) in Tulsa was cancelled, and the status of the band's additional tour dates is uncertain, according to the group's publicist. The trio was scheduled to play a show tomorrow night (10/5) in Kansas City, MO.
The Grammy-nominated Hanson brothers--Taylor, guitarist Isaac and drummer Zac--shot to fame as youngsters 10 years ago with their smash, teeny-bopper hit "MmmBop."
