Peter Bjorn and John gear up for 2008

Hardworking indie-pop trio Peter Bjorn and John has lined up another round of headlining dates, including the band's first shows of 2008.

The Swedish group has been a steady presence on the road this year, only taking the month of October off to recuperate and catch its collective breath. The band will kick off its end-of-the-year outing Nov. 23 in Houston.

Canadian indie outfit The Besnard Lakes will handle support chores for the North American trek, which will be prefaced by a Nov. 19 solo appearance by the trio's Peter Moren in New York City. Subsequent Peter Bjorn and John dates in January include visits to Montreal, Toronto and Mexico City; the full schedule is included below.

The trio is touring behind "Writer's Block," its third and most recent studio album, which follows 2005's "Falling Out." A pair of videos from the new album, including one for the group's breakthrough hit, "Young Folks," are streaming at the act's website.

September saw the re-release of "Young Folks" in a variety of packages and formats, including a version on 7-inch vinyl that includes an unreleased PB&J track, "Ancient Curses."

The song, featuring guest vocalist Victoria Bergsman of The Concretes as well as an infectious whistling hook, garnered much attention for the band after appearing in several commercials and countless YouTube videos. The re-released version of the single hit No. 13 on the UK music charts.
