Thrice explores the elements, maps tour with Say Anything

Alt-rock experimentalists Thrice will climb aboard the tour bus in February for a run of co-headlining dates with indie rockers Say Anything .

The tour gets underway Feb. 7 in Vancouver, British Columbia, with the first eight stops taking place in Canadian cities, before heading back to the US for three additional shows, kicking off Feb. 19 in Grand Rapids, MI. All dates are included below for the outing, which will feature additional support from Canadian alt-rockers Attack in Black for the non-US shows.

California-bred Thrice is supporting a new concept album, "The Alchemy Index," which the group originally hoped to release as four separate EPS. After switching labels midway through the album's recording process (from Island to Vagrant), the band decided to release the set as two separate albums. "The Alchemy Index Vols. I & II - Fire and Water" was released in October; the next two "volumes" are due on a single CD in April.

The group self-produced the concept suite, which revolves around the four elements--fire, water, air, earth--with six album tracks representing each element. The first of the two albums debuted at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and No. 5 on iTunes' top-selling albums list.

Los Angeles-based Say Anything released its third full-length effort in October. Produced by Brad Wood (Ben Lee, Liz Phair), the double-disc "In Defense of the Genre" debuted at No. 27 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 25,000 copies in its first week in stores.
