Rapper/guitarist/producer Wyclef Jean has extended his upcoming tour behind his latest CD, December's "Carnival Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant."
"Carnival Vol. II," Jean's sixth studio effort as a solo artist since leaving critically acclaimed hip-hop trio The Fugees, sees Jean self-producing the disc with help from singer Akon, Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas, and longtime producer/collaborator Jerry "Wonder" Duplessis, who is also the performer's cousin. The album hit stores in early December.
The album features guest contributions from a wide-ranging group of artists, including Mary J. Blige, Paul Simon, Chamillionaire, Shakira and System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian.
The lead single from the set, "Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)," hit radio in August, featuring guest vocals from Akon, singer Niia, and rapper Lil Wayne. A second single, "Any Other Day," is scheduled for release Dec. 10.
