Jordin Sparks to open Alicia Keys tour

"American Idol" Jordin Sparks has won the opening slot on Alicia Keys ' upcoming North American tour.

The 30-date trek, which kicks off April 19 in Hampton, VA, is scheduled to visit arenas all over the US and a couple in Canada through mid-June. Details are listed below.

Eleven-time Grammy winner Keys, who picked up her latest trophies at Sunday's (2/10) ceremony, will start her lengthy world tour in Europe later this month. She is supporting her third studio album, "As I Am," which has spent four non-consecutive weeks atop The Billboard 200 since its November release and currently resides at No. 3.

The set's lead single, "No One," scored Keys Grammy Awards for Best R&B Song and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. The star also snagged four honors at last night's (2/14) NAACP Image Awards: Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Album, and Outstanding Song and Outstanding Music Video for the single "Like You'll Never See Me Again."

Sparks was also called up to the podium at the NAACP Image Awards, as she was named Outstanding New Artist.

The 18-year-old singer, who is the youngest winner of FOX-TV's "American Idol" contest, is backing her eponymous debut, which peaked at No. 10 on The Billboard 200 in December and has spawned pop hits "Tattoo" and "No Air," the latter of which is a duet with Chis Brown.
