Celine Dion takes more 'Chances' in North America

Celine Dion , who launched her "Taking Chances World Tour" last week in South Africa, will greet North America this fall with multiple shows in many markets.

The Canadian superstar will visit Dubai, Japan, China, Korea, Australia and Europe before winding her way back to North America in August. She is currently scheduled to play nearly 60 shows across the US and Canada through next January, starting with a two-night stand Aug. 12-13 in Boston and an eight-night stay at Montreal's Bell Centre.

Since last check, second nights have been added in Newark, NJ; Uniondale, NY; New York City; Vancouver; Edmonton; and Winnipeg, along with a Jan. 5 show in Dallas. North American dates are listed below and those overseas can be found at Dion's website.

In December, the chanteuse wrapped her five-year residency at Las Vegas' Colosseum at Caesars Palace. More than 3 million fans flocked to Dion's "A New Day" production, which logged 723 sold-out performances, according to a press release.

On tour, the five-time Grammy winner will sing her biggest hits and showcase material from her new album, "Taking Chances," which surfaced in November and shot to No. 3 on The Billboard 200. The set, her first English-language offering in three years, has Dion collaborating with artists including former Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody, Linda Perry and Ne-Yo.

Dion also recently released the DVD version of "A New Day," which chronicles the entire 90-minute performance and includes more than three hours of bonus material in the form of three documentaries. "A New Day: Live in Las Vegas" made history in Canada as the only music DVD to be certified triple diamond for sales topping 300,000, according to a press release.

Dion has sold more than 180 million records worldwide and received numerous awards, her latest one being the World Music Awards' Legend honor.
