Country music duo Sugarland --comprised of singer/songwriters Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush--have begun polishing up their summer tour schedule.
The Atlanta-based pair, who continue to support 2006's platinum-selling "Enjoy the Ride," will mount the next stage of their current trek April 3 in Atlanta, the first night of a two-night engagement. The duo's itinerary ramps up as summer approaches, with 18 shows scheduled in June and July. All dates are below.
Nettles and Bush co-wrote most of the tracks on "Enjoy the Ride," which spawned a pair of No. 1 singles in "Want To" and "Settlin'," along with the set's most recent single, "These Are the Days." The album, released late in 2006, boasts co-production by Nettles and Bush, along with Nashville veteran Byron Gallimore (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill).
"In the studio, I felt one hundred percent confident in letting Kristian guide the flow and it was really neat for me to sit back and watch him do his thing," Nettles said in the band's online bio. "He really stepped up to the plate artistically and I felt like I could explore how I'd developed vocally and even contribute to other parts."
Bush told Billboard.com last fall that he and Nettles had written "six or seven" songs for the follow-up to "Enjoy the Ride," and that the duo had been inspired by a stint on the road last year opening shows for Kenny Chesney.
"From playing these large venues with him, we're discovering that to communicate with 20,000-plus people a night, you have to really simplify your message without pandering," Bush said. "You have to write something that is visceral and deliver it in a way that's intelligent but doesn't insult anybody."
