Day26 evicts Danity Kane from No. 1 slot
The self-titled debut from Day26 , a group that emerged from the MTV series "Making the Band," sold 190,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to debut at No. 1 on the US album chart.
Day26 replaces at No. 1 another "Making the Band" act, Danity Kane , which falls to the No. 4 slot on The Billboard 200; DK's "Welcome to the Dollhouse" sold 89,000 copies. Billboard's flagship album chart is based on Nielsen SoundScan retail reports.
Panic at the Disco's "Pretty. Odd." sold 139,000 copies during its first week out and bows at No. 2, while Counting Crows ' "Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings" enters the chart at No. 3 with sales of 106,000, according to Billboard. The "NOW 27" hits compilation falls to No. 5 on sales of 67,000.
Rounding out the Top 5 are Rick Ross ' "Trilla," The Raconteurs ' "Consolers of the Lonely," Jack Johnson 's "Sleep Through the Static," Flo Rida 's "Mail on Sunday" and Sara Bareilles ' "Little Voice."
