Hot Chip goes 'On the Road' with Zune

British electro-pop outfit Hot Chip is touring North America this month as part of Zune's "On the Road" program.

The trek, which kicked off last week on the East Coast, continues tonight (4/15) in Montreal, and will visit major markets across the US and Canada through the end of the month. Hot Chip will also make an appearance at Indio, CA's Coachella Festival. Details are listed below.

In conjunction with the tour, digital music and entertainment company Zune has released a set of exclusive video podcasts from Hot Chip's most recent UK tour. Additional episodes will roll out on a weekly basis through the month of April on the Zune Marketplace website.

Hot Chip is supporting its third full-length album, "Made in the Dark," which surfaced in February and reached No. 2 on Billboard's Top Electronic Albums chart. The set showcases the band's quirky, clever, soulful pop flavor, but evolves toward a wilder, heavier electronics sound. As with its past records, Hot Chip self-produced "Made in the Dark" and primarily recorded the album at home. A few of the songs were recorded live in one take.

It's a formula that has served the band well, as its previous offering, 2006's "The Warning," was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.

Several songs from "Made in the Dark" are streaming at Hot Chip's MySpace page.
