George Thorogood and the Destroyers will hit the road with blues-rock legend Buddy Guy for two-dozen dates across the US this summer.
Thorogood, who's been traveling across the country since February, will kick off a 20-date tour of Canada next month before joining Guy July 23 in Silverton, OR. The blues-rockers will make their way from the West Coast to the East Coast through late August. Thorogood's full itinerary is listed below.
Thorogood and the Destroyers continue to support their latest release, "The Hard Stuff," which surfaced in May 2006. The set features a number of originals, as well as covers of several obscure blues tunes, including Jimmy Reed's "Little Rain," Hound Dog Taylor's "Give Me Back My Wig," Fats Domino's "Hello Josephine" and Johnny Shines' "Dynaflow Blues."
Last year, the band released "Bad to the Bone: 25th Anniversary Edition," which features a digitally remastered version of the gold-certified album, plus six newly recorded album tracks and a rare b-side.
Along with their busy tour schedule, Thorogood and company are said to be planning a new album.
Guy has also kept up a relentless touring schedule, traveling the world to support his first career-spanning box set, "Can't Quit the Blues," which hit stores in late 2006. The collection comprises three CDs covering the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's 50-year career.
Guy, who recently wrapped a North American jaunt, will cross the Pond for a UK tour in June. Those dates can be found at his website.
