Lil Wayne lines up dates behind third piece of 'Tha Carter' trilogy

Rapper Lil Wayne has put his troubles with the law and Internet leaks on hold for the moment, lining up a brief tour around the release of his latest set, "Tha Carter III."

Born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., Lil Wayne will kick off the outing tonight (5/30) in Providence, RI. Several of the appearances on the 11-city swing will come as part of multiple-act radio station festivals, with Lil Wayne grabbing the top billing. All dates are included below.

Lil Wayne will be backing the highly anticipated "Tha Carter III," which is due in stores June 10. The third and final album in the so-called "Tha Carter" trilogy, the disc boasts an impressive lineup of guest contributors and individual track producers, including Kanye West, The Alchemist, Cool & Dre and others.

After several of the album's tracks leaked on the Internet last year, Lil Wayne assembled a five-song EP, "The Leak," out of those cuts, releasing it to the public last December.

"One thing I noticed, when another person's album gets leaked, it's a whole thing; they're distraught," the rapper told VH1.com last year. "When my song gets leaked, people call and say, 'It's the greatest song. Can I have it for this album?' Or, 'Can I put it on this soundtrack? Can we get the ringtone?' It's never, 'Damn, dude, your music leaked.' So what we feel, we're gonna give you what you want. We're gonna give you the leak.'"

In January, Lil Wayne's tour bus was pulled over near Yuma, AZ, and a police search turned up a .44 caliber pistol, several ounces of marijuana and over an ounce each of cocaine and Ecstasy. The rapper produced a Concealed Weapons Permit for the gun, but the permit was issued in Florida and did not fall under Arizona state jurisdiction. Lil Wayne was subsequently released on bail and awaits further action by prosecutors in the case.
