The Roots, Gnarls Barkley lead Southern Comfort tour lineup

The Roots , Gnarls Barkley and The Black Keys are among the highlights on the remaining dates of the free Southern Comfort Music Experience tour.

Organizers of the touring event--which next heads to Denver for a June 18 show featuring Gnarls Barkley and Blonde Redhead--have added several new names to the tour's lineup, which will unveil a different roster of musical talent in each city.

Remaining dates on the trek are shown below, along with featured performers at each stop. The tour kicked off last month in Atlanta with a lineup featuring Against Me!, Ghostland Observatory and others.

"The [Southern Comfort] tour was created to celebrate a growing trend as more and more American music fans plan their summer fun around destination music festivals," said Southern Comfort PR Manager Sean Wachsman in a press release. "At the same time, we recognize that music fans are struggling to find ways to afford enjoying these festivals. We ... thought it would be great to bring people together in a way that allows them to simply show up with proper ID to get in for free."

Each of the venues will feature national and local talent performing on two stages in a "festival setting with food, beverage, poster and T-shirt vendors," according to a press release, along with the "SoCo & Lime Dome," featuring a live DJ and interactive exhibits and games.

"It's a long day at the festival, so we've tried to create a very interactive experience but also allow people to feel like they can just hang out with their friends," said Wachsman.

Now in its fourth year of existence, the SoCo Music Experience tour has, in previous years, featured The Flaming Lips, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Spank Rock, Cypress Hill, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Architecture in Helsinki, among other acts.
