Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst will take his Mystic Valley Band on the road to support his forthcoming new solo album, which is due later this summer.
The singer/songwriter and his backing crew--guitarists Taylor Hollingsworth and Nik Freitas, bassist Macey Taylor, keyboardist/trumpeter Nate Walcott and drummer Jason Boesel--will launch a 21-city run July 25 in Billings, MT. The trek is split into two legs, with a European tour between the two North American portions. The second US swing kicks off in late September.
Details for the North American shows are included below, and Oberst's overseas dates can be found at his website.
Due in stores Aug. 4, Oberst's self-titled fourth solo album was recorded in Mexico City with members of the Mystic Valley Band. The singer inked a deal earlier this year with Merge Records for his first solo set in 12 years, following 1996's "Soundtrack to My Movies," which Oberst released on cassette while still a teenager.
The singer's primary concern, Bright Eyes, released its sixth studio set, "Cassadaga," last April. The album features guest contributions from Gillian Welch, Janet Weiss (formerly of Sleater-Kinney) and Ben Kweller.
