Dandy Warhols chart return to 'Earth'

Alt-rockers The Dandy Warhols will return from a European trek late this summer to launch a US tour backing the band's new album, "Earth to The Dandy Warhols."

The group plays tomorrow night (6/20) in Seattle, its last American show before launching an overseas outing that runs through much of July. The band's international schedule can be found at its official website.

In September, the band returns home for a 16-city outing that kicks off Sept. 9 in Minneapolis and is capped off with a hometown Oct. 5 show in Portland, OR. Dates are shown below.

The Dandys are backing "Earth to The Dandy Warhols," their eighth studio album and first since 2005's "Odditorium of Warlords of Mars." The new set, produced by the band's frontman, Courtney Taylor-Taylor, was released last month as a digital download from the group's website, and will emerge in physical disc form in August.

The album sports guest contributions from Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell on one song.

Fans can preview streaming tracks from the album at the band's website, and also subscribe to the site in order to download the set in its entirety.
