
Singer/songwriter Juliana Hatfield has lined up a brief fall tour behind the forthcoming release of her latest solo album, "How to Walk Away."
The Massachusetts-based Hatfield will kick off the outing Sept. 9 in Washington, DC. The eight-city jaunt splits neatly between East and West coasts, concluding with a Sept. 27 show in Los Angeles. Details are below.
"How to Walk Away," Hatfield's 10th solo album (she also released several albums with her pre-solo-career group, Blake Babies) is due in stores Aug. 19, and follows 2005's "Made in China." The new set pairs the singer with producer Andy Chase (Fountains of Wayne, Smashing Pumpkins).
The album's lead single, "This Lonely Love"--which is streaming at Hatfield's MySpace page--features a guest vocal from Richard Butler of The Psychedelic Furs, and is set to hit radio stations this week. Other guests on the album include Matthew Caws of Nada Surf, Jody Porter of Fountains of Wayne and Tracy Bonham on violin. .
Hatfield is also touting the publication of her autobiography, "When I Grow Up," which is due out Sept. 29 from Wiley & Sons.
