Yung Joc, Cartel headline Crocs tour

Hip-hop artist Yung Joc and alt-rockers Cartel head up the Crocs Next Step Campus Tour , which hits college campuses across the US this fall.

The outing, which also features California rapper MC Lars, kicks off Aug. 29 in Reno, NV, and is currently configured to hit 10 cities through late September, with organizers expecting to add several more stops along the way. Details are below.

In addition to musical entertainment, the tour will feature an Xbox 360 stage, where attendees can compete against each other in video games, and a "Crocs tattoo studio," according to promoters.

Yung Joc's most recent studio set, 2007's "Hustlenomics," features executive production from Sean "Diddy" Combs, who also shares a production credit on the album with several notable names, including Cool and Dre, The Neptunes and The Fixxers, among others. The disc also sports a handsome roster of guest contributors, including Snoop Dogg, The Game and Bun B.

The set has sold more than 850,000 copies since its release, according to the performer's record label.

Georgia-based power-pop outfit Cartel is backing its self-titled sophomore album from last year, which followed "Chroma," the band's 2005 debut. According to the group's MySpace page, Cartel is currently working on a new album for Wind-up Records. The band's first two records were released on the Epic label.
