Southern alt-rockers Kings of Leon have rolled out the itinerary for a fall North American tour that backs the group's forthcoming album, "Only by the Night."
The tour launches Oct. 11 in Las Vegas, and stops are planned in more than 20 cities through mid-November. We Are Scientists will hold down one of two opening slots for the entire tour, while The Stills will be on board for all of the October dates, and The Whigs will take over for the November shows. Details are included below.
Kings of Leon will have a chance to warm up for the outing with a Sept. 23 concert in New York City, an event that will mark that day's release of "Only by the Night." The Whigs will warm up the crowd at the concert.
Recorded on the band's home turf in Nashville, TN, "Only by the Night" features the leadoff single "Sex on Fire," which premiered yesterday (8/5) at the group's website. The quartet is in Los Angeles this week shooting a video for the cut with director Sophie Muller, according to a press release.
Starting Sept. 1, the band will host at both its website and its MySpace page a series of home movies that document the making of "Only by the Night."
