Jose Gonzalez returns to 'Nature' with fall, winter shows

Jose Gonzalez continues to build support for his second studio album, "In Our Nature," with a few new US shows appearing on his calendar this fall and winter.

The Swedish singer/songwriter shows a pair of multi-night engagements on his schedule, kicking off Sept. 23-24 in Oakland, CA, where he'll play a pair of shows each of the two nights. He has also lined up a three-night run (12/4-6) in Brooklyn. Details are included below.

Gonzalez continues to support last fall's "In Our Nature," the follow-up to his 2003 debut album, "Veneer," which gained attention in the US after the inclusion of its song "Crosses" on 2005's season-ending episode of the television series "The O.C." The set was subsequently reissued later that year, and an EP, "Stay in the Shade," followed last January.

"I like playing with symbolism," Gonzalez told British music publication NME last year. "On this album I've wanted to bring out the primitive aspects of human beings."

Earlier this year, Gonzalez released the "In Our Nature Remixes" EP, which features songs from the album remixed by Todd Terje, Penchenga Nord, Beatfanatic, Landberg & Skogehall and others.

Additionally, Gonzalez released the digital single "Teardrop" in May. The song--a cover of a Massive Attack tune--is paired with the non-album b-side "Four Forks Ache."
