Minus the Bear preps monster headlining run

Indie rockers Minus the Bear have unveiled an extensive schedule of fall headlining shows as the band continues to support last year's "Planet of Ice" LP.

The Seattle-based band--which will be supported on the trek by six-member indie-pop outfit Annuals --will kick off the run Oct. 8 in Spokane, WA. The 36-city outing will hit mainly nightclubs and small theaters during its six-week duration. Dates are included below.

Released last August, "Planet of Ice" is Minus the Bear's third long-player, following 2005's "Menos el Oso" and 2002's "Highly Refined Pirates." The set was co-produced by Chris Common and the group's ex-keyboard player, Matt Bayles.

A video for the album's first single, "Knights," can be found streaming at the group's website.

North Carolina natives Annuals will be supporting their sophomore album, "Such Fun," which is due in stores Oct. 7, the day before the start of the tour. The disc--which features co-production by the band's frontman, Adam Baker, along with Jacquire King (Modest Mouse, Tom Waits)--follows the band's 2006 debut, "Be He Me."

A five-track split EP--which features three Annuals tracks and a pair from a peripherally related side project of the band, Sunfold--saw daylight earlier this year. The lead cut, "Sore," is streaming at the group's MySpace page.
