The Academy Is ..., We The Kings co-headline fall trek
Indie-rock outfit The Academy Is... . is teaming with alt-pop quartet We The Kings for "Bill & Trav's Bogus Journey Tour."
The 40-date North American outing, which is set to kick off Oct. 1 in Charlotte, NC, will also feature support acts Carolina Liar and Hey Monday. The bands will crisscross the US and play a few Canadian dates through late November. Details are listed below.
Pre-sale tickets went on sale Tuesday (8/19), and the general onsale starts Saturday (8/23).
The Academy Is ... is celebrating the release of its new record, "Fast Times at Barrington High," which hits stores Tuesday. The set's lead single, "About A Girl," is currently impacting at alternative, Triple A and Top 40 radio outlets, according to a press release. The full album is streaming at the Chicago-based band's MySpace page.
"Fast Times" follows last year's "Santi," which debuted at No. 32 on The Billboard 200 and spawned the single "We've Got A Big Mess On Our Hands."
Fresh off the Vans Warped Tour, The Academy Is ... is currently overseas, playing gigs in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the UK through late September.
That UK jaunt will also feature We The Kings, who continue to support their self-titled debut. The album broke into The Billboard 200 last February and spawned the pop single "Check Yes Juliet," which is streaming at the group's MySpace page along with a couple of other songs from the set.
