"Nutty Professor" Soundtrack And New Everclear Album Debut In Top 10

Soundtrack album “The Nutty Professor II - The Klumps,” released last week, will debut at No. 4 on this week’s Billboard 200 album chart, while Everclear ’s new release will debut at No. 9. Eminem ’s “The Marshall Mathers LP,” meanwhile, will hang on to the No. 1 spot for the eighth consecutive week.

“Nutty Professor,” the soundtrack for the new Eddie Murphy comedy, features rap and R&B tracks by artists such as Janet Jackson , Sisqo, Method Man, R. Kelly, DMX and L.L. Cool J., and has sold roughly 150,000 units since its July 11 release. That figure puts it just behind this week’s No. 3 album, rap-newcomer Nelly ’s “Country Grammar,” which sold roughly 184,000 units in its third week of release.

Everclear’s “Songs from an American Movie Volume One: Learning How to Smile” sold just over 107,000 copies in its first week, which put it just ahead of 3 Doors Down’s “Better Life,” this week’s No. 10 album.

“The Marshall Mathers LP,” meanwhile, continued its hot streak with sales of just over 250,000 units. Eminem’s latest has sold nearly 5 million copies in the eight weeks since its release.

Britney Spears’ “Oops! … I Did It Again” climbs back into the No. 2 spot this week after being pushed into the No. 3 position last week by the Ruff Ryders compilation album "Ryde or Die Vol. II." DMX and Method Man, both of whom are featured on “The Nutty Professor” soundtrack, are also featured on “Ryde or Die Vol. II,” which falls to No. 5 this week.

Rounding out the Top 10 this week is Creed’s “Human Clay” at No. 6, ‘N Sync’s “No Strings Attached” at No. 7 and Papa Roach’s “Infest” at No. 8.
