Album Chart: Slipknot ties up No. 1 slot
Slipknot tops the latest US album chart, moving about 240,000 copies of its latest set, "All Hope is Gone," during its first week in stores.
The rockers, who are celebrating their first No. 1 album, barely edged out rapper The Game 's "LAX," which sold about 238,000 copies and debuts at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart. Billboard bases its flagship album chart on Nielsen SoundScan retail reports.
Kid Rock 's "Rock N Roll Jesus" falls one slot to No. 3 on sales of 89,000, while the Jonas Brothers ' "A Little Bit Longer" slips from No. 1 to No. 4 with sales of 80,000. The "Mamma Mia" soundtrack drops one notch to No. 5 on sales of 78,000, according to Billboard.
Rounding out the Top 10 are Lil Wayne 's "Tha Carter III" at No. 6, the hits compilation "Now That's What I Call Country" at No. 7, Sugarland 's "Love on the Inside" at No. 8, Solange 's "Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams" at No. 9 and Coldplay 's "Viva La Vida" at No. 10.
