OneRepublic headlines 'Tag This Tour!'

Pop-rock outfit OneRepublic has assembled its first North American headlining jaunt and will bring support acts Augustana, The Spill Canvas and The Hush Sound along for the ride.

The "Tag This Tour!" is set to launch Oct. 23 in Fairfax, VA, and visit more than 30 club, theater and college venues from coast to coast through early December. Major markets on the itinerary include Chicago, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dallas, Philadelphia, New York City, Detroit and Boston. The outing is scheduled to wrap in Canada following shows in Montreal and Toronto. Details are listed below.

"We really wanted to put a great bill together and give everyone a real bang for their buck!" OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder said in as statement. "The economy sucks and we think fans deserve a break!"

As part of the outing, OneRepublic will host a contest centered around online social networking between fans and the band.

"We wanted to do something for the fans to let everyone be involved with the tour," Tedder explained. "We can't let on just yet what's in store but we want our fans to be prepared to have some fun with it."

The last year has been a whirlwind for the members of OneRepublic, who scored a major hit with their first single, "Apologize." The song is off the band's debut album, "Dreaming Out Loud," which surfaced in December and climbed to No. 14 on The Billboard 200.

"Apologize" has become the most "legally" downloaded song in US digital history, with sales topping 4.3 million, according to a press release. That song and followup singles "Stop and Stare" and "Say All I Need" have helped push "Dreaming Out Loud" to gold and platinum status in 12 countries.

OneRepublic is keeping the buzz going strong with relentless touring and promotional activities. The group recently returned from treks through Asia and Europe, and just finished opening the summer leg of John Mayer's US tour. The musicians are currently in Europe for a monthlong jaunt that launches this weekend, and they're planning future tours of South Africa, South America, Eastern Europe and Australia/New Zealand, according to a blog posting at their MySpace page.

OneRepublic spent years building a grassroots following through its MySpace community, one fan at a time. When hip-hop star/producer Timbaland launched his Mosley Music Group, he was quick to sign the Colorado-bred group as his first rock act.
