From The Jam tours ahead of DVD release

Founding members of seminal British mod-punk band The Jam will return to North America this month for a 15-city tour.

Two-thirds of the original band--bassist Bruce Foxton and drummer Rick Buckler--will team with Russell Hastings, who plays guitar and sings Paul Weller's parts. Weller, who's been working on his solo career, chose not to join the reunion.

The group, which is touring under the moniker From The Jam, will start on the East Coast with a Sept. 23 performance in Foxboro, MA. The trek will cross over to Canada later this month for shows in Montreal and Toronto, and then make its way to California for the finale. From The Jam will then return to the UK for more tour dates in December. North American gigs are listed below and those overseas can be found at the band's website.

On the road, From The Jam will perform original hits from the '70s and '80s, and the members are also working on new material.

"The fans worldwide have proven to us that they still feel as passionate about the music of The Jam as we do," Foxton said in a statement. "We are genuinely overwhelmed by the support and interest in the band."

The rockers are also putting the final touches on a two-disc DVD set that captures their sold-out show at London's Kentish Town Forum last December. "'A First Class Return' From the Jam " will feature in-depth interviews with each of the band members, as well. The release date is yet to be determined, but a sneak peek of the film is streaming at the YouTube website.
