Indie rockers Los Campesinos! and Titus Andronicus will launch a co-headlining tour in early 2009, with both bands supporting recent record releases.
The Welsh Los Campesinos! and New Jersey's Titus Andronicus kick off the outing Jan. 15 in Baltimore, traveling through 20 cities and ending with a two-night (2/14-15) stand in New York City. Dates are below.
"We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed" is the second full-length set from Los Campesinos!, and the album's Nov. 25 release date comes less than eight months after the April Fool's Day release of the band's debut, "Hold On Now, Youngster ..." The forthcoming album features production by notable indie-rock studio figure John Goodmanson (Death Cab for Cutie, Pavement), and will be available as a limited-edition box set including a DVD, poster, buttons and a 37-page booklet including lyrics from the album.
The group was formed in 2006 by seven university students in Cardiff, Wales, and attracted the early attention of UK indie label Wichita Recordings, which put out the band's 2007 EP, "Sticking Fingers Into Sockets," featuring a mild hit in "You! Me! Dancing!," which ranked No. 72 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007.
Titus Andronicus dropped its debut album, "The Airing of Grievances," earlier this year on New Jersey-based indie label Troubleman Unlimited. The nine-track set, which has garnered mostly positive reviews from critics, follows a pair of singles and the band's self-titled, self-released EP.
