Cut Copy pastes final 'Ghost' trek

Australian electro-pop trio Cut Copy has announced its final run through North America to support its latest album, "In Ghost Colours."

The 17-date outing is set to launch March 6 in Austin, TX, and visit cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Toronto, New York and Atlanta through the end of the month. Brooklyn-based punk/dance duo Matt and Kim and a surprise DJ will join Cut Copy on the trek, which is detailed below.

The North American run will mark Cut Copy's final shows before the members retire to the studio to start work on their next album, according to a press release.

The group recently wrapped a North American outing with fellow Aussie act The Presets, and is currently in Europe. Later this month, Cut Copy will launch a tour of Australia and New Zealand that will take the trio into 2009. Further details about overseas dates can be found at the band's MySpace page.

"In Ghost Colours," Cut Copy's second studio album, broke into The Billboard 200 and notched a No. 1 ranking on Australia's ARIA album chart. The set, which surfaced in the US last April, follows 2004's "Bright Like Neon Love." Songs from both records are streaming at Cut Copy's MySpace page.

The band was founded in 2001 by songwriter/DJ/vocalist/guitarist Dan Whitford and comprises bassist/guitarist Tim Hoey and drummer Mitchell Scott.
