Darker My Love uncorks end-of-year headlining tour

Indie-rockers Darker My Love hit the road this month and next to build support behind their recently released sophomore studio set, "2."

The Los Angeles natives, who kicked off the outing last night (11/13) in San Francisco, continue the club slate tomorrow night (11/15) in Portland, OR. The band has 28 cities remaining on the trek, which snakes through the rest of this month and halfway through December before winding down with a hometown show Dec. 19 at L.A.'s Echoplex.

Austin garage-rockers The Strange Boys and San Francisco psychedelic rock quartet Lumerians offer opening support on the outing. Dates are below.

Released in August, "2" is Darker My Love's follow-up to the band's self-titled 2006 debut. The new album was recorded in the group's hometown with producer Dave Cooley (Silversun Pickups, Madvillain), and was mixed by Tony Hoffer (Air, Beck).

Bassist Rob Barbato described Cooley as a "a good guide through this endeavor" in the band's online bio, adding, "It was a large scale record. He was really good at encouraging us and experimenting with different ideas."

Streaming tracks from both of the band's albums can be heard at Darker My Love's MySpace page.
