Morning Benders, Submarines map co-headlining tour

Indie-rockers The Morning Benders and The Submarines will hit the road together on an early 2009 co-headlining outing.

The pair of California acts (the Morning Benders are based in Berkeley, while the Submarines hail from Los Angeles) will travel to 20 cities on the trek, which launches Jan. 20 in Costa Mesa, CA. Dates are below.

The Morning Benders continue to support their debut album, "Talking Through Tin Cans," which hit stores earlier this year on +1 Records. The band recently released an iTunes Session EP including three re-worked versions of tracks from the debut album, a brand new song titled "Back & Again," and a cover of "I Wanna Be Like You" from Disney's "The Jungle Book."

Additionally, fans can download a free album of covers, "The Bedroom Covers," from singer Chris Chu's blog.

The Submarines released their sophomore effort, "Honeysuckle Weeks," this spring. An instrumental cut of the album's track "You Me & the Bourgeoisie" was featured this summer in a commercial for Apple's iPhone 3G.

The set follows the group's 2006 debut on the Nettwerk label, "Declare a New State!"
