G. Love and Special Sauce map winter tour

G. Love and Special Sauce will hop on the tour bus for a slate of early year headlining shows, the rock/rap trio's first since leader G. Love's recent vocal-cord surgery.

The group kicks off the run Feb. 12 in Kansas City, MO, and has lined up dates in 19 cities, including a March West Coast swing. Details on the outing are included below.

The shows will mark Love's return to the stage after undergoing laser surgery in November to repair a bleeding vein on his vocal cords. The procedure, which was performed in Philadelphia, G. Love's hometown, forced him to take two months off of singing, and go a week without talking at all.

"This is definitely the longest amount of time I've gone without a gig since I started gigging," Love wrote on the group's website.

On tour, G. Love & Special Sauce will showcase material from their 10th full-length album, "Superhero Brother," which hit stores in June. The new record follows 2006's "Lemonade."
