Low vs Diamond plots co-headlining tour with Strokes bassist

Alt-rockers Low vs Diamond have lined up a co-headlining tour later this month with Nickel Eye, a side project of Strokes bassist Nikolai Fraiture.

Los Angeles-based Low vs Diamond kicks off the outing with a Jan. 15 headlining show in Brooklyn, NY, before teaming with New Yorker Fraiture for the remainder of the 12-city trek, which continues Jan. 18 in Philadelphia and concludes in early February on the opposite coast. Dates are below.

Low vs Diamond appeared in several "artists to watch" features, including Rolling Stone's Hot List, Filter Magazine's "Getting To Know You" section and the Los Angeles Times' "THE LIST," before releasing its self-titled debut album last spring on Sony BMG.

Streaming video cuts of several songs from the album--including a clip for the song "Heart Attack" directed by Marc Klasfeld (Coheed and Cambria, Jay-Z)--are currently up at the band's website.

Fraiture recruited UK band South as his backing group for a series of demos recorded in London last year, and that lineup later entered a New York studio to record Nickel Eye's debut album "The Time of the Assassins," which is due in stores Jan. 27 on the Rykodisc label.
