Glenn Tilbrook unleashes 'Pandemonium' in the US

Squeeze co-founder Glenn Tilbrook is taking his latest band, The Fluffers, on a trip across the US this spring to support their forthcoming album, "Pandemonium Ensues."

Tilbrook, who is currently in Japan for a weeklong solo trek, will launch Fluffers dates March 18 in Farmingdale, NY, and hit 14 cities around the eastern half of US through early April. The itinerary, listed below, includes stops in Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia and New York City. Tilbrook's international shows, including a May run through the UK, can be found at his website.

The Fluffers--keyboardist Stephen "Lord" Large, bassist Lucy Shaw and drummer Simon Hanson--have been performing with Tilbrook since 2003. Last year, the group released its first single, "Binga Bong," off of "Pandemonium Ensues," which is due Feb. 23 on Quixotic Records. The song is streaming at Tilbrook's MySpace page and a second single, "Still," will be available for download early next month.

The new album--Tilbrook's first in five years and his first full recording with The Fluffers--follows his solo offerings: 2001's "The Incomplete Glenn Tilbrook" and 2004's "Transatlantic Ping Pong." In 2006, he also put out the feature-length documentary "Glenn Tilbrook: One For The Road."

Tilbrook is best known for his work in Squeeze, the influential British band he co-founded with Chris Difford in the mid-'70s. The band suffered a less-than-friendly breakup in 1999 and Tilbrook took off on his solo career, playing intimate venues with a mix of Squeeze numbers and tracks from his own albums.

Squeeze reunited for a tour in 2007 and played sold-out shows in America and the UK, according to a press release. The band has no plans to tour this year, though it may perform a few festival shows, according to Tilbrook's MySpace page.
