"American Idol" runner-up David Archuleta has nailed down plans for his first solo tour.
The 18-year-old pop singer is scheduled to visit 20 US cities starting Feb. 24 in Virginia Beach, VA, and wrapping March 21 in Boise, ID. He'll take Jive Records labelmate Lesley Roy along for the cross-country ride, which is detailed below. Tickets for the majority of dates go on sale beginning tomorrow (1/30).
Archuleta's eponymous debut album surfaced in November and debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200. The set has since achieved gold status with the help of pop/adult contemporary hit "Crush," and the current single, "A Little Too Not Over You," is currently climbing the pop charts. Both tracks are streaming at Archuleta's MySpace page.
Although he was the runner-up to David Cook on the seventh season of "American Idol," Archuleta won the hearts of millions. During the show's finale, he reportedly received 44 percent of the 97 million votes cast.
During his "Idol" run, the baby-faced vocalist also scored three entries on Billboard's Hot 100 chart: a remake of John Lennon's "Imagine," a rendition of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" and his finale song, "In This Moment."
Before his tour kicks off, Archuleta will reveal his acting chops on a Feb. 7 episode of Nickelodeon teen show "iCarly."
