Singer/producer Tricky has lined up an early spring headlining tour behind his latest studio album, last summer's "Knowle West Boy."
The British performer also will make a March 20 co-headlining gig with Devo during the SXSW music conference in Austin, TX. The trek gets underway March 2 in Farmingdale, NY. Dates are below.
Named after the London-area ghetto where Tricky was raised, "Knowle West Boy" is the performer's first album since 2003's "Vulnerable." The release of the album, which surfaced last August, was delayed because Tricky reportedly was unhappy with the results of initial recording sessions for the set.
"I was working with [ex-Suede guitarist] Bernard Butler," he recently told UK culture mag The Skinny. "I was, like, 'Right, this is the first time I'm going to let someone co-produce,' but the guy's s---, he's got no clue! So I just took it home and re-did it all, protected some of my songs."
The album's lead-off track, "Puppy Toy," is scheduled to be released March 3 as a digital single. The single will include unreleased b-sides, remixes and videos for both "Puppy Toy" and the album's first single, "Council Estate."
