Indie/electronica duo YACHT adds a third member in a touring capacity as the band hits the road ahead of a new album, "See Mystery Lights," which is due this spring.
The pair--Jona Bechtolt and Claire Evans--will be joined on the outing, which kicks off March 12 in Las Vegas, by Adam Forkner, who releases material and performs as experimental indie act White Rainbow. The freshly forged trio will hit 13 cities on the March trek. Details are shown below.
Due this spring on DFA Records, "See Mystery Lights" is the group's follow-up to 2007's "I Believe in You. Your Magic is Real." Free sample mp3s from the act's back catalog are available at the official YACHT website.
YACHT began as a solo project of Bechtolt, an electronic musician and multimedia artist who lives in Portland, OR. After releasing the mostly instrumental debut "Superwarren MMIV" in 2003, Bechtolt began incorporating guest vocalists into YACHT's music, finally settling on Marfa, TX, native Claire Evans as a full-fledged second member for the outfit.
Bechtolt, who has collaborated in the past with Devendra Banhart, Mirah and Little Wings, among others, has remixed tracks for both Architecture in Helsinki and White Rainbow.
