California punk rockers The Bronx will head out on the road next month for a headlining tour to back their latest self-titled studio effort.
The band will take care of a little business in and around Austin, TX, during the SXSW music conference and festival before launching the trek March 23 in Albuquerque, NM. The month-long road trip stretches into late April; details are below.
"The Bronx (III)," the band's third album--and its third consecutive eponymous release--surfaced in November on the White Drugs label. The group announced last year, possibly as a joke, that another studio album, this one an all-mariachi record titled "El Bronx," would follow sometime this year. The group can be seen performing mariachi-style in several YouTube videos.
"Music is an escape and a way to channel out anything that's frustrating--everyone needs an outlet," frontman Matt Caughthran told Kerrang! Magazine recently. "I'm very fortunate I have The Bronx. If I didn't, I'd be dead or in jail."
Streaming samples from the set are available at the band's MySpace page, and videos can be found at the official Bronx website.
