Weezer is quite possibly one of the very first Emo bands. Well before the genre had a name, the band was producing songs that years later would gain a following with Emophiles, even though Weezer was in the midst of a lengthy hiatus.
Formed in 1992, with grunge in full swing, Weezer took off with the singles "Undone -- The Sweater Song" and "Buddy Holly," both from the band's self-titled 1994 debut, a.k.a. "The Blue Album." It sold over 3 million copies in the US.
Currently touring in support of the group's latest self-titled release, a.k.a. "The Red Album," Weezer is making the rounds with support bands Angels and Airwaves, and Tokyo Police Club . Tomorrow night (10/17) they perform in San Diego, and five more cities follow later this month.
LiveDaily's Tim Mosenfelder caught the show in San Jose, CA, on Monday night (10/13), and took some photos of the band in action.
