The Kinks writing songs for possible reunion album
The Kinks have begun writing new songs that may lead to a reunion album and tour, according to BBC News.
In September, singer Ray Davies said any potential reunion would depend on the health of his brother, bandmate Dave, who suffered a stroke in 2004. Ray Davies said his brother is currently well, but it is still too early to determine if the band will reunite.
"We've started a little bit of this and that," he told BBC News. However, when it comes to a full-fledged reunion, Davies said, "It depends if there's good music. We want good new music."
Davies, who last performed with The Kinks in 1996, is touring the US as a solo artist, and working on an album with a choir. He also hopes to record an album of collaborations with a range of artists including Chuck Berry, Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell, Snow Patrol and possibly some unsigned bands.
