DMX behind bars in Miami
DMX was arrested Tuesday (12/9) in Miami at the home of record producer Scott Storch, according to the Broward-Palm Beach New Times website.
The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested by federal authorities for missing a court appearance in Phoenix last week.
An attorney for Simmons reportedly said DMX missed the court date because he had been in and out of rehab in Florida for the past couple of weeks. However, an unnamed source reportedly said DMX was in South Florida at the time of his scheduled Arizona court appearance with a young woman who delivered his baby over the weekend.
DMX was being held at the Miami-Dade County jail. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of identity theft, drug possession and animal cruelty. He is expected to be returned to Phoenix, where his bond has been raised to $120,000.
