San Francisco-based punk band NOFX reached a noteworthy milestone this year, beating the odds and remaining intact for 25 years. The band's founding members--Fat Mike (vocals, bass), Eric Melvin (guitar) and Erik Sandin (drums)--began playing together in Los Angeles in 1983, with lead guitarist and trumpet player, El Hefe joining 8 years later.
The group's discography includes 10 studio albums, reportedly with over 6 million units sold worldwide--independently, no less.
Having spent 2008 demo-ing songs for their forthcoming album, the band has put plans in place for a tour to begin at the end of January which will feature former members of the band showing up to play a few songs. In addition fans can look forward to catching them this summer when they perform as part of the Vans Warped Tour.
Here are some photos that I took of the band when they played during the San Francisco leg of the Vans Warped Tour in 2006.
