Leonard Cohen , who last year was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will continue his post-induction resurgence with a New York City performance that will be his first in the US since 1993.
Set to take place Feb. 19 at the Beacon Theatre, Cohen's concert will be a one-night-only affair featuring the same production that "earned more than 80 five-star reviews during his fall 2008 UK and European tour," according to a press release. Tickets go on sale Friday (1/16).
The UK and Euro outings followed Cohen's Canadian outing, which took place in May and June of last year, and marked his first tour since '93.
Cohen's most recent studio album is 2004's "Dear Heather," a collaboration with his girlfriend, jazz singer Anjani Thomas, who shared co-production credits for the disc. The pair returned with a similar effort, "Blue Alert," in 2006, with Thomas singing and Cohen producing and writing the album's lyrics.
Cohen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last March, with the Hall recognizing his status among "the highest and most influential echelon of songwriters," according to a press release.
