Philadelphia based prog-rock band the Disco Biscuits started out playing frat parties in 1995. At the time, the gigs were a good fit for founding members Jon Gutwillig and Sam Altman, friends who met as undergraduates at the University of Pennsylvania.

Today, the Disco Biscuits are known for having an experimental sound, fusing trance with electronica--and sometimes even playing their songs backwards or in separate parts throughout any given set and calling them "inverted" or "dyslexic" versions.

Apparently gearing up to deliver a new twist on their sound, the band spent 2008 working with Philly hip-hop producers Dirty Harry and Don Cheegro of Ludacris and Chris Brown fame.

The Disco Biscuits performed at the Congress Theatre in Chicago, IL, last month (1/24) as part of their winter tour. LiveDaily's Lyle A. Waisman was there with his camera, and here are some of his best shots.
