Lil Wayne facing million-dollar lawsuit

Lil Wayne has been hit with a $1.3 million lawsuit filed by a Rochester, NY, promoter over three canceled concerts at the Blue Cross Arena, according to the Democrat and Chronicle newspaper.

The suit, filed Friday (2/13) in New York City Superior Court, alleges RMF Productions paid Lil Wayne a $100,000 advance for an October concert that was canceled due to an unsatisfactory sound system.

Promoter Ed Strickland re-scheduled the concert for Dec. 6 but the rapper canceled again. The third make-up date, booked for Jan. 21, was canceled by email just two days prior to the show due to "band logistics."

"I could not believe it," Strickland told local reporters. "We worked so hard to build credibility for the show. I was just blindsided. All indicators led me to believe everything was a green light.

"This is a business. I have a commitment to my investors, the public. A lot of money--TV, radio, print--went to make this thing happen."
