Marilyn Manson will preview his upcoming album with a free download available exclusively March 27 at MarilynManson.com. The song, "We're From America," represents the first public listen to the new music Manson recorded with longtime "friend and foil" Twiggy Ramirez, according to a press release.
The song, which will be available as a digital single on April 7, is a cut on the forthcoming album, "The High End of Low," which hits stores May 26. The album's official first single, "Arma... geddon," will be released April 13.
Produced by Manson, Ramirez and keyboardist Chris Vrenna, the album also features the very Manson-esque-titled track "I Want to Kill You Like They Do In The Movies."
"I think my life definitely ended and began," Manson said in a statement. "The record sounds very final, but it's almost optimistic--though that feels like a strange word to use. It's a phoenix from the fire and a redemption resurrection."
Manson's thoughts about giving away a free digital download? "The first one's always free ... Beginning with a small, slow dose ... the new era of Marilyn Manson and 'The High End of Low' begins now."
Manson and Ramirez, working closely for the first time in nearly a decade, will be joined by Vrenna and drummer Ginger Fish on this summer's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, which runs July through August. Manson, with his new lineup, also kicks off a world tour this June with a headlining festival run in Europe.
