Del the Funky Homosapien hits the road behind new album

Del the Funky Homosapien returns to his home planet next month for a headlining jaunt in support of his forthcoming sixth studio set, "Funkman."

The alternative rapper kicks off the tour April 8 in San Luis Obispo, CA, the first of 29 cities on the outing, which stretches through the middle of May. The complete itinerary is shown below.

"Funkman," or what the rapper calls his "13-point Stimulus Package," is due in stores April 7. In a press release, Del said he plans to use the release to "revive the public at large," and that he's aiming the album at listeners who are "over the whole rap era."

"It's going to be some time before any sensation captures people's interest on a whole again like Hip Hop did," he added. "I could be wrong, but I'm letting people know they need to mess with me in the meantime. People are jaded that's all, and I don't blame them--things come to the head, places switching, it's a crazy trip!"

The complete album, along with a pair of pre-release"leak packs," is currently available as a free download through Del's website.
