Willie Nelson has rescheduled several dates the country legend was forced to postpone last month, moving the shows to open calendar slots in October.
The reshuffled dates--including appearances in Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi--appear at the end of Nelson's current schedule, which continues later this week with an April 5 show in Kingston, Ontario. Ticket holders for the affected dates are advised to contact the individual venues for more information regarding ticketing issues.
Meanwhile, Nelson has greatly expanded his spring tour schedule since last check, adding dates across the Midwest and Southwest during late April and early May, including a two-night engagement at Boston's Fenway Park (5/29-30), when the Red-Headed Stranger and his touring outfit will offer opening support for the Dave Matthews Band. The Nelson/DMB connection continues with a few additional hookups in September and October. Full details are included below.
Nelson's recent trek with Asleep at the Wheel showcased music from their new collaboration, "Willie & the Wheel," which surfaced in February and landed at No. 15 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. The set features a collection of classic western swing songs handpicked by legendary record producer Jerry Wexler, who passed away last August at age 91.
Last month, Nelson rolled out "Naked Willie," a 17-track set of recordings from the late '60s that have been stripped down to the way they were originally heard in the studio. The record hit stores March 17.
