Atmosphere celebrates 'Ugly' re-issue with spring run

Hip-hop duo Atmosphere has launched a North American spring trek dubbed the "When God Gives You Ugly Tour."

The in-progress outing kicked off last week in Bozeman, MT, and continues tonight (4/14) in Flagstaff, AZ, stopping by theaters, ballrooms and clubs in 30 cities through mid-May. The pair will also spend two weeks hitting a handful of Canadian venues beginning April 25 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and running through a May 9 performance in Ottawa, Ontario. Special guests POS and Attracted to Gods will open most shows. The full itinerary is below.

Atmosphere--made up of rapper Slug (born Sean Daley) and DJ/producer Ant (Anthony Davis)--is backing the re-release of its third album, 2002's "God Loves Ugly," which hit shelves again in January after being out of print for more than a year. The re-issue also features a bonus DVD entitled "Sad Clown Bad Dub 4," which includes live performance footage, a backstage look, and music videos for "Godlovesugly," "Say Shh" and "Summersong."

The duo's most recent album, last year's "When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That S--- Gold," marked its sixth studio effort. The record debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 and included the track "You," which spent some time on Billboard's Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart.

Atmosphere's recently released music video for "Your Glasshouse," a single from "When Life Gives You Lemons...," is currently streaming at the duo's MySpace page.
