Cher reveals more Vegas residency dates

With the 30th anniversary of her debut Caesars Palace performance approaching this June, pop icon Cher has announced the final 2009 shows for her in-progress residency at the Las Vegas casino.

Since last check, another 33 performances have been unveiled, beginning Sept. 19 and running through Dec. 20. The 90-minute concert-style show continues the current four night a week schedule, running on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Several spring dates are forthcoming, getting underway April 25 and continuing through May 24, though the pop star's extravaganza will take a break over the summer months. Details are below.

Tickets, which range from $95 to $250, not including taxes and fees, will go on sale for the fall shows beginning tomorrow via Ticketmaster. Tickets for the spring dates are still available.

The Caesars Palace gigs began last May, following a deal with promoter AEG to play approximately 200 shows at 4,300-seat venue over the course of three years. The over-the-top extravaganza features songs spanning Cher's extensive career and includes 18 dancers along with aerialists, special effects, dramatic scenery changes and a costume wardrobe created by renowned designer Bob Mackie.

[Editor's note: This story and headline initially incorrectly reported that Cher's Las Vegas residency would end after her December dates. In fact, she inked a deal with promoter AEG in 2008 to play approximately 200 shows at the 4,300-seat Colosseum over a span of three years. Cher will be back for more Vegas shows in 2010.]
