Yeah Yeah Yeahs line up summer 'Blitz'

Yeah Yeah Yeahs have mapped summer tour dates as the indie-rockers head out on the road to support their new studio album, last month's "It's Blitz!"

Kicking off with a May 23 appearance at rural Washington State's Sasquatch! Festival, the band will play a mixture of headlining shows and summer festivals through mid-June, then head to the East Coast for a July 31 opening night slot at New Jersey's three-day outdoor music fest, All Points West. Details are below.

"It's Blitz!," the New Yorkers' first studio album since 2006's "Show Your Bones," was produced by Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Arcade Fire) and TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek, and features guest contributions from TVOTR's Tune Adebimpe and Kyp Malone, The Bird and the Bee's Greg Kurtsin, and saxophonist Stuart Bogie (Antibalas), among others.

The album's first single, "Zero," hit radio airwaves in February. The song's video is streaming at the band's website.

According to a recent interview in Spin Magazine, "It's Blitz!" was inspired by '70s disco, British synth-pop pioneers Joy Division, and lead singer Karen O's love of dancing.

"There's no comparison to the feeling you get when you're dancing like your life depends on it," the singer told the magazine.
